“Not published” preserves unavailable or suppressed source cells. “Above reporting limit” preserves a top-coded source value without inventing a number. A missing state estimate does not establish service eligibility. The data describe wage and salary employment; they do not measure self-employment income.

Describe assistance and independent work separately

Record whether you supplied tools, positioned pipe, installed supports, or assisted with a fixture or repair. Note who directed the task and whether your responsibility changed during the shift. Avoid describing work performed by the whole crew as work you personally completed.

Connect the assignment to the site

List the site, crew, and dates in a private chronology, along with changes communicated by a supervisor. Separate shop preparation, loading, work at the site, and cleanup when describing the day. Use approximate times when you do not have a reliable record.

Keep site records within their boundaries

Use your own schedules, pay statements, and assignment notices that you may retain. Do not copy building access information, customer interior photographs, or technical plans for a personal folder. Record where a relevant work order is held and summarize the employment concern without providing repair instructions.

Choose your next step

Review the workplace retaliation guide, unpaid wages guide, or discrimination guide if those concerns fit your experience. A job title alone does not establish a claim.
